Most moms are working mommies too; at work they are caught up with tons of paper works or conference call services with clients. When they come home from work there are still so many things to do at home. Despite being busy as bee with work they still need to keep a clean and organized home. Here are some cleaning tips for busy moms:

  • Create a monthly cleaning checklist
  • Use color coding for the tasks that should be done weekly, occasionally and tasks delegated to other family members
  • Choose a motivation that would inspire you to do all the tasks in the checklist.

Cleaning Laptop LCD Screen

Your laptop or netbook LCD screen needs tender loving care too! You have spent a good amount of money to buy one of those hp mini laptops, and you need to take care of it. LCD screens are quite sensitive and you should know how to properly clean it or else it may get damage.

The dirt and fingerprints on your LCD screen would alter the appearance on the image or video quality.  In cleaning the LCD screen of your laptop or netbook you would need the following materials:

  • Distilled Water
  • Soft and lint-free cotton cloth
  • Spray bottle
  • Isopropyl alcohol

When wiping the LCD screen, wipe with just one direction either top to bottom or left to right. This would give the desired results, if not there are cleaning solutions available in the market that would ease cleaning those hard to remove smudges on the LCD screens.

There are a lot of tasks that Moms do- and it seems to be endless. Imagine all the cooking, cleaning, sorting out fights among the little ones; running the entire household is actually eating much of the time. Despite these numerous tasks, it does not stop a mom from running a business or working to earn additional income for the family.

Moms who wish to start working from home should have the space required to set-up their office or business. It also means that the working space should not be a place where kids can play. In order not to worry about having the documents stained by sandwich spread. Having a document management software is also advisable in case the kids will start playing with your documents.

Aside from working space, mom should also learn how to manage time. It is difficult to work in between preparing breakfast and getting the kids ready for school. When mom is working, she can ask help from Dad to take care of the little ones while she concentrates on finishing her tasks.

Work-at-home moms should also learn how to do proper accounting. This would keep track on the income versus the expenses incurred. In this manner, moms may be able to pay for the contribution in her Social Security which may be beneficial in the later years of her life.

Choosing the Right Daycare

Most families have both parents who are working to meet the financial needs. But moms are the ones expected to choose the right daycare for their child. If you are one of those working moms, whether you are a simple factory worker or one of those US Business Lawyers; you would still  need to find the right daycare to keep your child busy while you are at work, here are some tips that may help you choose the right daycare:

  • Talk to other parents who put their kids in a daycare. It is best to speak with parents whose kids avail of the daycare services, in this manner you would know whether it will fit your standards or not.
  • Find a daycare that is after the safety of the kids, check whether the furniture and fixtures are child-proof such as tables with round corners and non-toxic toys.
  • Check whether the child-staff ratio is okay. There may be too many children in the daycare and inadequate number of staff to take care of them.

  • For those who do not intend to work online, they can start home-based businesses such as daycares and catering services.

The possibilities to earn money from home are definitely endless. Mommies should be resourceful and creative to discover these endless opportunities.

Shopping Without Spending (Part 2)

I really wanted to get this Guess shoulder bag last month.  I thought I would wait for the shopping card ($20) that one of the survey companies I am working with would send me.  I already had  one from Myer department store ($20) which they sent me as I accumulated the required points from my Myer One membership.  I also got a payment of $30 from an Australian survey company Rewards Central straight to my bank account.

Finally, I got the bag couple of weeks ago.

This Guess bag is worth $69.  It was on sale – 25% off.  As a member of Myer One Club I also got another 25% off the price.  That totaled to 50% off the shelf price.  With that $34.50 remaining which I needed to pay, I used the gift cards that I received from Myer and the survey company.  I kept the remaining $5.50 for my next shopping trip to Myer.

The $30 dollar cash I received from Rewards Central answered my lunch – a pack of salmon sushi for $9.50, pack of mini sushi rolls for $4.50, a chicken teriyaki skewer for $3.50, miso soup for $2.00 and a bottle of water for $3.50.  YES, that’s how much I eat!  I love food!  That was a very good and satisfying $23.00 worth of lunch.

I enjoy sharing my shopping trips with you all moms.  I love earning at home and at the same time looking after my family.  Pampering myself would cost me a bit of money sometimes.  But I find it more exciting and fun when I spend nothing from my own pocket.
